Day 8

Torn between taking a day off and playing. Plus I have been busy. So I compromised. Sorta. Here are the numbers:

Today: +$26
To date: +$1577
To go: $98432
Bankroll: $2577

38 hands --- 0.20 hours --- 34.4 PTbb/100 --- 15.8/13.2 --- MT: 2.17

Done with the first level in one week.

Well, things have turned out really well for the first level. I managed to reach my bankroll goal of $2500 in 7 days. I ran pretty damn well, but I also played pretty damn well. All the while still playing my regular 1-2NL 5 days a week. Next stop: 6-tabling $100NL.

Here are my numbers for $50NL:

11,853 hands --- 20.53 hours --- 11.25 PTbb/100 --- 19.1/13.8 --- MT: 6.80

+$1551 making $75.54/hour

Day 7

Today: +$142
To date: +$1551
To go: $98449
Bankroll: $2551

2009 hands --- 3.53 hours --- 5.0 PTbb/100 --- 22.1/16.1 --- MT: 7.14

Played more aggro, and made a few more plays because of it. Problem was I kept getting called. I ended up turning a profit, but I think I could have made more money if I played a little tighter.

Day 6

Today: +$301
To date: +$1409
To go: $98591
Bankroll: $2409

972 hands --- 1.68 hours --- 30.0 PTbb/100 --- 20.2/14.2 --- MT: 7.23

8 tabled for 1:40 and got almost 1000 hands. Ran pretty damn well.

Day 5

Today: +$98
To date: +$1108
To go: $98892
Bankroll: $2108

Short session. 601 hands. Crazy Halloween party last night, and we have another one to go to today. Played well tho and ran fine. Some bad beats, couple coolers, people chasing and calling me down when they shouldn't. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Day 4

Today: +$0
To date: +$1010
To go: $98990
Bankroll: $2010

I played 1700 straight hands 8 tabling and got dealt some of the shittiest beats known to man. 1 outer on the river for 3 buyin pot. 3 set over sets. tons of all ins vs draws that caught. I was steaming pretty damn hard, but I never tilted. Took over 3 hours to just break even. I had between 2-4 buyins on all 8 tables before I finally quit. And that barely broke me even. If not for the $20 bonus I converted, I would be down for the day.

Day 3

Today: +$201
To date: +$1010
To go: $98990
Bankroll: $2010

Good news: I doubled my bankroll in 3 days! Here are the numbers:

2804 hands --- 4.45 hours --- 5.76 PTbb/100 --- 18/13.2 --- MT: 7.09

Well the rush ended, sorta. I was up around $130 after 1 hour. Then took a break and decided to finish late. Apparently the bad beat donks come out at 10pm. Cuz thats when they got me. I had AA cracked twice, sets 2 outed by overpairs on the river, and a lot of other horrible shit. I was down $300 (including my $130 from before). I WANTED to make that $$ back, and especially to get over 2k in 3 days. So I said fuck it. I will just sit here and 8-table til I get it all back. It took 3.5 hours extra and 2800 hands, but I got there. I am playing well, and if that is constant then I will profit in the long run. Today's $2000 mark couldn't have gotten here soon enough.

Day 2

Today: +$594
To date: +$809
To go: $99191
Bankroll: $1809

Um. Yeah. So I made almost 12 buyins today. Here are my numbers:
I played 1739 hands over 3.03 hours and I ran at 31.9 PTbb/100. PT #'s were 16.7/12. I played anywhere from 6-8 tables at a time (MT Ratio: 6.69) and cleared $40 in bonuses.

I cut the session short. I figured I just made 6 days expected profit, so cutting out 260 hands early is no biggie. I ran ridiculously good. I even sucked out on a few people - my odds were definitely there, but no doubt I caught a few good cards. When I had a hand, people paid me off, and when I didnt, I didnt put too much $$ in. I made some good folds when I needed to, and I played good solid poker. Today was more than a nice run - I made more today than I usually do playing $1/$2 NL. I'm definitely riding this rush while I can.

Day 1

Today: +$215
To date: +$215
To go: $99785
Bankroll: $1215

Had a good start. I made $175.00 over 2005 hands (+$40 in bonuses). I played 3.97 hours (broken into two 2-hour sessions) and ran for 8.7 PTbb/100. I took some nasty beats, and I really didnt run all that great. Just a lot of people paying me off when they shouldn't. $50NL is very beatable, even while 6 tabling and just relying on PAHUD numbers. I wasnt as aggressive as I wanted to be, but that was mostly due to the fact that I wasnt given too much credit, and that I was 6 tabling and had to pick my spots. I was 18/13.5, when I like to play more of a 22/18 type game.

So day 1 comes to an end. Four hours of 6 tabling 6-handed poker can get pretty exhausting. But as long as I am playing good poker, then I will get my 2000 hands in each day and hopefully turn a nice profit along the way.

Starting tomorrow...

This should be a fun challenge. My goal is to accomplish this in under 1 year. I will be updating daily, showing all my numbers. I plan on 6-tabling FTP's $50NL to start. I must make $1500 (30 buyins) before I can move up to $100 NL. I can 6-table and get about 500 hands an hour - so I am going to shoot for 2k hands a day for this first level. If I run at 5PT bb/100 then I should reach my goal of $1500 within 15days (30k hands).

Challenge will begin October 24th 2006

I have chosen Full Tilt Poker for my challenge. I must use good bankroll management (see below). I can multi-table as much or as little as I want. I cannot deposit or withdraw any money along the way. If a re-deposit bonus comes up, then I can re-deposit for the bonus, but must also withdraw the same amount.

Bankroll rules:
$50 NL: 20 buyins ($1000 bankroll)
$100NL: 25 buyins ($2500 bankroll)
$200NL: 30 buyins ($6000 bankroll)
$400NL: 35 buyins ($14000 bankroll)
$600NL: 40 buyins ($24000 bankroll)
$1000NL: 45 buyins ($45000 bankroll)
$2000NL: 50 buyins ($100000 bankroll)
