Did the same thing I did yesterday. Played two 2/4 tables and six 1/2 tables. Came up $271 & $433 respectively. Played a shorter session than I would have liked. But the break was so nice. So called it a day.

Do you think you would move up according to BR? or do you think you should move up once you feel can handle any situation that comes up at the current level? And/Or once you get x # of hands at any given limit? Technically you can run really well for a few weeks and win enough that ur BR tells you that you should move up but in reality you arn't ready for it.

(Not saying you are or are not, just wondering what you think)

Great question - and ironically one that I am dealing with specifically as of the last 2 days. I had started my cahllenge with the intention of moving up in limits solely according to bankroll rules (see the first post in October's archive). After talking with Taylor and Ryan, I have come to the conclusion that it's ok a to cheat a little, and move up ahead of schedule if I am comfortable and able to handle the swings. So yesterday, I played 2 2/4 tables and 6 1/2 tables. I netted 800 at 2/4, and 300 at 1/2. So I think I will continue doing this, and play a bit of 2/4 mixed in with mostly 1/2, until I get comfortable enough to do vice versa.

Additionally, it's whatever you are comfortable with. If you play $100 NL and want to move up to 1/2, as yourself if you are ready/bankrolled to lose $400-$500 pots. Because they WILL happen, and often enough that it will get to you if you aren't ready for it. Bankroll management is so huge. My FTP bankroll is over 12k now, and I can honestly say that I don't like the idea of losing $800-$900 pots on 2/4, and I'm not sure that I'm ready for it. But my overall bankroll is over $30k, so in reality, I have over 75 buyins at 2/4, so losing one buyin shouldnt break me. But it definitely sucks. I can say, however, that mixing in a couple tables of 2/4 is getting me more comfortable with this level, and I think I am capable of beating it handily. I just need to become comfortable with the swings... which I feel is steadily coming along with experience, increased bankroll, and my improving play.
